體育盛事的義工之旅：包璇怡 Noran
To Noran Pau, her volunteering experience at the Asian Games not only exposed her to a bigger world of media and international athletes but also forged close friendships with fellow volunteers from mainland China.
I never expected to connect with people from different places. The 18 other volunteers and I became so close that we even created our own volunteer section logo to represent our unity, Noran shared.
As a dedicated volunteer from the HKFYG who recently joined the volunteer crew at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Noran found fulfilment in working with other passionate volunteers towards a common goal: delivering a better sporting event to people from around the globe.
A student at Metropolitan University, Noran took on the role of assisting broadcasters in the media area, providing translation services, and facilitating guest reception. With thorough training and preparation, volunteers like Noran had to adapt quickly to the dynamic environment and handle unexpected situations such as technical issues.
Reflecting on her experience, Noran expressed joy in closely engaging with various news organizations and conducting interviews. Having started volunteering in primary school, Noran later became a regular photographer volunteer for different sports events at the HKFYG. The Asian Games marked her biggest sports event as a volunteer, allowing her to enhance her communication skills and build meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds.
We are incredibly proud of Noran’s dedication and commitment to serving as a volunteer at the Asian Games. Her invaluable contributions to facilitating communication and creating a welcoming environment for audiences, athletes, and media professionals have truly expanded her horizons.
