The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Guideline for the Use of Personal Data
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (the Federation) undertakes to comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to ensure that personal data kept are accurate and securely kept. To ensure you are well informed of the personal data collected, please read through this guideline.
Purpose of Collection and Guideline for Use of Personal Data
- The Federation will use personal data collected from data subjects for the purposes for which it was collected.
- Providing personal data to the Federation is on a voluntary basis. Applying for the scholarship and participating in related activities indicates that you fully agree with the personal information collection policy of the Federation. However, if you do not provide sufficient personal data, we may not be able to process your application or provide a service to you.
- The Federation may use your/ your student’s personal data (name, sex, date of birth, telephone number, fax number, email, organization/company/school, application details etc.) for future purposes. These may include communication, application processing, issuing receipt, research, fundraising appeal, feedback collecting, activities invitation/related promotion, and providing information about HKFYG. Personal data may also be shared with the sponsoring organization – Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation Limited – for the above-mentioned purposes.
Access to and Correction of Personal Data and Request for cessation of using Personal Data for Promotion Purposes
Apart from the exemptions provided under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have/ your student has the right to access and correct your / your student’s personal data held by the Federation, and request us to cease to use your/ your student’s personal data for promotion purposes. However, it will not include the personal data deleted after the achievement of the purpose.
If you object the Federation to use your/ your student’s personal data for the purposes as stated above, please notify us by mail/fax/email. (Remarks: Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation)
