Youth S.P.O.Ts
The Federation’s 22 Youth S.P.O.Ts (Spaces for Participation, Opportunities and Training) enable young people to explore their potential and engage in community building. Recent additions to Youth S.P.O.Ts include LEAD Lab, launched to nurture an interest in STEAM through creativity and technology projects, and NEIGHBOURHOOD First, a youth-led initiative powered by 3,000 young volunteers to forge neighbourly relations and build inclusive communities. Above the Tai Po Youth S.P.O.T is PH2, Hong Kong’s first youth hostel that offers working youth affordable and comfortable accommodation.
M21 Multimedia Services
The M21 Multimedia Centre, along with M21 Community Studios across various Youth S.P.O.Ts, provide opportunities and media literacy programmes to enhance digital skills. Housed within M21 is the HKFYG Jockey Club Digital Skills Transformation Centre, which features extended reality (XR), metaverse, digital creation and green screen studios, supporting innovation and creativity with the latest trends in artificial intelligence and technological applications. Media and information literacy programmes are organised to promote digital literacy.
Counselling Services
The Federation’s counselling services address physical, mental, social, occupational, digital and environmental wellness, as well as specific issues such as mental health, diverse learning needs and media literacy. Its comprehensive support network brings together the Wellness PLUS Complex, Wellness PLUS, Shall We Talk · Shall We Walk, Youthline 2777 8899, uTouch Cyber Youth Outreach Service, school stationing and clinical psychology services. The EasySchoolConnect portal (easyschoolconnect.hk) also supports schools with over 1,000 educational resources.
Youth at Risk Services
The Youth Crime Prevention Centre works through regional Outreaching Social Work Teams, Extended Service for Young Night Drifters, Youth Support Scheme and Anti-Drug Service, as well as its YouthLaw app and hotline 8100 9669 to provide legal and other resources for those arrested and seeking help. Along with preventive education, crisis intervention and assessments, as well as counselling services, the Centre promotes multi-disciplinary collaboration, research and advocacy as it helps young people and their families affected by youth- and cyber-crime, deviance, sex-related crises and drug abuse issues. Short-term accommodation services to youth in need aged 18 to 24 are also available.
