The HKFYG Charity Golf Tournament
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups’ Second Charity Golf Tournament was successfully held on 6 October 2022 at The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, attracting the support and participation of over 100 golfers in 26 teams. Proceeds will go towards providing assistance, encouragement and support for the balanced development of youth with special educational needs.
The Hon Andrew LEUNG, President of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Dr. Rosanna Wong, Senior Adviser of The HKFYG; Mr. WAN Man-yee, BBS, JP, President of The HKFYG; Mr. Andy HO, Executive Director of The HKFYG; Mr. Huen WONG, Club Chairman of The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, together with Mr. Paul TSE, Deputy Chairman of the Club and Mrs. Jennifer WAN, Council Members of the Club were present at the Welcoming Ceremony, thanking the sponsors and cheering on the players.
The Tournament took place in the format of Double Peoria Handicap Stroke Play and gave out 26 awards, including a Group Gross Score and Net Score, the Men’s & Ladies’ Longest Drive and Nearest to Pin. The event also featured a “Beat the Pro” Charity Challenge on the 11th hole, allowing amateurs to pit their skills against golf professional Eric Lee to win even more prizes.
The Federation is deeply grateful to The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club for offering all-round support for running the Tournament, especially in providing the venue. Their professional assistance and management of the Tournament, waiver of green fees and provision of golf carts, food and beverage at the Club, Beat-the-Pro” challenge, was highly appreciated. The HKFYG provides professional services for special educational needs youth, including academic support, as well as skills-based trainings and career guidance, in order to build an inclusive society. Funds raised from this tournament would allow special educational needs youth avail of opportunities to unleash their potential.
