Caring to Call – Calling to Care
Hong Kong is in the midst of a surging number of infections in this so-called fifth wave. To ensure that no one is left isolated, especially the more vulnerable in our community, the Federation has launched the Caring to Call – Calling to Care campaign.
Caring to Call – Calling to Care aims at providing services that cover emotional support, telemedicine services, short-stay accommodation, donations of anti-epidemic materials and career advice to at least 10,000 people in need, including the elderly, disadvantaged families, DSE students and unemployed youth.
The five key actions have been swiftly taken and all units are stand-by to serve the community. First, all members from the Federation, including volunteers, members and staff will be mobilized to give care and emotional support by making at least ten calls, not only to their friends, but also the disadvantaged. For people who are ill but not able to leave home, we will provide free telemedicine services, covering psychological counselling, Chinese and Western medical consultation and medicine delivery. Other than that, the Federation is going to open part of our campsites for families in urgent need for a short stay in a safe accommodation.
Responding to the needs of the community, the Federation is also actively looking for donations of anti-epidemic materials, including rapid antigen test kits for COVID-19, face masks, hygiene supplies, smart phones and packed food.
Considering the economic consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Federation will co-operate with partners by offering job opportunities and related support to youth who are currently underemployed or unemployed, as well as online career advice and assistance on how to access the Anti-epidemic Fund application. There will also be a short term rent waiver for start-up tenants at the HKFYG Jockey Club Social Innovation Centre and a loan repayment deferral for participants of Youth Business Hong Kong.
詳情可瀏覽網站hkfyg.org.hk/caringtocall。
